Sam Milby admitted to speaking with Moira dela Torre during her and her husband Jason Hernandez’s breakup.
However, he is unable to offer an opinion on the couple’s marriage breakdown.
“I’ve been able to talk to her. When it comes to that issue, it’s not my story to tell.
“But kahit nung bago siya sumikat, I was already her kuya, and I’m very protective of her,” Sam said.
Sam would have preferred to earn Moira personally, but they are both currently preoccupied with work.
Sam is active in concert tours in addition to his role in the Kapamilya prime-time series “A Family Affair.”
Sam was in Canada in May with girlfriend Catriona Gray, and he will be in the United States in July for another concert tour.
“Mahirap kasi siyempre galing sa taping, galing sa Canada, I want to be more physically present para sa kanya, but I haven’t been able to.
“We haven’t been able to see each other. Maybe two or three times lang.”
“He knows I’m always here for him anytime,” Sam said of his friendship with Moira.
Moira, for her part, revealed in Toni Gonzaga’s vlog that when she was first starting out as a singer, she used to live in Sam’s condo unit.
Sam’s elder sister, Ada, was still based in the United States at the time.
Moira’s parents are divorced, with her mother residing in Olongapo and her father in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sam expressed concern that Moira, who was suffering from severe depression, would be alone.
Moira also mentioned in an Instagram post from 2015 that she will never forget a heart-to-heart conversation she had with Sam at a coffee shop.
Sam is said to have reminded him of Bible verses and other people’s success stories in order to inspire him and restore his confidence.
Moira’s post included the following: “Here was the most famous person in the country, investing time on me, telling me i was worth it.
“I thanked him for believing in me and for taking the time to speak truth to me.
“And he replied with this, ‘I would gladly be the one to keep doing this again and again until you start believing that you are great, that you are talented and that you deserve to be heard by the world..
“‘I believe all of this not just because you’re my little sister but because you really are all that and more. I believe in you, Moi.'”
