Rabiya Mateo and Jeric Gonzales discussed their connection during their contract signing for GMA’s talent management arm. The beauty queen-turned-actress claimed that several people were concerned regarding her romance with the actor.

According to a story in Pilipino Star Ngayon, she stated that despite the unfavorable responses, she preferred to pursue her heart and that they will be fighting for their love.

“Kami ni Jeric, lumalaban po talaga kami sa buhay, and aminado naman po namin na we’re not perfect and alam ko, when we were starting at ang daming nagsasabi sa amin, sa akin talaga na if you want to have a blooming career in showbiz, huwag kang mag-boyfriend. Huwag kang pumili ng artista. Pero I did not listen to them, and I chose to love at its fullest,” Rabiya explained.

Rabiya went from the pageant stage to entertainment, as beauty queens typically do following their pageant appearances. Her first acting job after signing a contract with GMA was an episode of Wish Ko Lang.

She was partnered with Jeric in that episode. They were seen united numerous times after that project. They eventually revealed their relationship.

Jeric Gonzales considers his relationship to be a blessing in his life. He is grateful for her presence since she has become an inspiration to him.

The actor also stated that he is grateful to be with someone who looks after him and encourages him to perform his best.
