Angelika posted a photo of the four shots from the gun on her Facebook page yesterday, June 7, 2022. It also contained a letter that appeared to threaten her and her relatives’ safety.

Angelika stated on her post, “Napaka dumi po tlg ng politika sa ating bansa .. yan po ang sulat at bala na pinadala sa XO ng aming Barangay na nagsasabi na may 4 daw na susunod at kaya may umiikot na d kilala sa bahay naming mag kapatid.. grabe naman kayo kung sino man kayo na gumagawa nito sa amin.”

Angelika was possibly concerned since, on May 28, a riding-in-tandem shot Tonsuya, Malabon, captain Filemon Villanueva.

The two suspects arrived at the captain’s residence unexpectedly that morning and shot him.

He was brought to the hospital, but he died as a result of his bullet wounds.

Angelika, who was running for barangay captain in the region, was also targeted in October 2013.

“I was going house to house, maybe around 5:30 or 6 that night, when suddenly a man with a knife rushed at me,” Angelika recalled.

“Yung tinutukan na ako, na parang sasaksakin na ako.

“Buti na lang, may bodyguard ako na ‘binigay ng asawa ko, hinatak nila ako.

“Pinayuko nila ako, kasi baka merong magbaril naman, kaya takot na takot talaga ako.”

Angelika was claimed to have faced such aggression for the first time in her initial journey into politics and campaigning.

When the situation occurred, the Kapuso actress said that she was at a loss for words. Angelika was instantly taken from the site because people went to the individual who attempted to knife her. It is unclear what Angelika’s next action will be in connection to the danger to her life.
