Mariel Padilla, 37, was recently interviewed by Ogie Diaz and responded to a few questions concerning Robin Padilla’s candidacy.

It should be noted that Robin is on the list of senate candidates for the PDP-Laban coalition.

During the interview, Ogie asked Mariel directly if her live sale was for the purpose of helping Robin.

“Totoo ba yung balita na kaya ka nagla-live selling para makatulong kay Robin? Dahil nga si Robin ay tumatakbong senador,” (Is the news true that you are doing live selling to help Robin? Because Robin is running for senator,”) Ogie asked.

Mariel answered yes without hesitation, explaining that she’s using to produce tarpaulins and hats for Robin’s campaigns.

“Yes, most of yung kinikita ko talaga, ipinangbibili ko ng tarp, pinanggagawa ko ng t-shirt. From my last live selling, nakapagpagawa ako ng caps and baller bands,” (“Yes, most of what I really earn, I bought a tarp, and I made t-shirts. From my last live selling, I was able to make caps and baller bands,”) Mariel answered.

Ogie immediately told Mariel that all this encouraged others to question on whether or not they had a campaign budget.

“Syempre, ang impression nung iba diyan, wala bang budget si Robin Padilla? Bakit kailangan si Mariel ay mag-dispose ng mga collection niya?”(“Of course, the impression was that Robin Padilla doesn’t have a budget? Why does Mariel have to dispose of her collections?”) she asked.

According to Mariel, even though she is not required to conduct the live selling for Robin’s campaign, she wishes to do it in order to support her partner.

“Hindi naman kailangan, gusto ko diba? But wala naman talaga kaming money for that, for those things, and ang dami talagang humihingi sa akin. Humihingi sila ng t-shirt sa akin, sasabihin nila sa akin, gusto nilang tumulong, gusto nila ng tarpaulin pero sa akin sila laging humihingi, eh minsan wala na rin. So kailangan lagi akong meron kasi ang daming humihingi sa akin.” (“It’s not necessary, I want to, right? But we really don’t have the money for that, for those things, and the amount is really asking me. They ask for a t-shirt from me, they tell me, they want to help, they want of tarpaulin but they always ask me, eh sometimes there isn’t. So I always have to have a lot of people asking me.”) Mariel stated.
