Himeka Takakuwa, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested Friday following the deaths of her three daughters the day before at their home in central Japan, police said, adding that she appeared to have attempted suicide as well.
On Thursday, Himeka Takakuwa was served with a primary warrant in connection with the death of her baby under 12 months old, and her daughter Sakura at their home in Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture. According to authorities, Hiroshi, Himeka’s husband 34 years of age called an ambulance after returning home from work around 9:10 p.m., stating that his children were unconscious.
Three daughters were found dead in a living room on the second story of the residence, Himari, 5, Nanoka, 3, and Sakura, according to rescue workers.
According to the police, the mother, who had been at home with the daughters, acknowledged to the deaths, telling investigators that she was “feeling unstable” at the time. Her left wrist and neck were both slightly injured in the accident. The police will conduct a thorough investigation and may charge with murder.
