DOH Response to Arnold Clavio’s Viral Post About COVID-19 in PH

Arnold Clavio’s viral post about COVID-19 in PH went viral on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. The Department of Health denies the allegations of Arnold Clavio’s viral posts. According to the DOH, there have been circulating reports that a hospital-based in Metro Manila was allegedly instructed to stop counting COVID-19 deaths.

DOH clarifies that it has never issued any order to stop the census or reporting of deaths, or any case related to COVID-19 to any health facility.
The DOH added, “We urge the public to exercise discretion when sharing information, to fact-check and verify first through DOH’s official channels and legitimate sources.”

Recently, as of April 12, 2020, the Department of Health reports 220 new cases (PH4429-PH4648) of COVID-19. The Total number of cases in the country is now at 4,648. DOH announces 40 new recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 197.

In Worldwide tally of Coronavirus, 1,783,941 confirmed cases, 405,972 recovered and 109,312 deaths.

According to Arnold Clavio’s viral post, a frontliner claimed that a hospital in Metro Manila was given a directive not to count the COVID-19 deaths.
