The director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, announces on Tuesday, said ‘We now have a name for the disease and its Covid-19.” Ghebreyesus stated that “co” stood for “corona”, “vi” for “virus” and “d” for “disease.”
Recently, Novel coronavirus has been confirmed in more than 42,000 people and caused more than 1,000 deaths in China. And also a total of 400 cases in 24 other countries, with one death.
“Having a name matters to prevent the use of other names that can be inaccurate or stigmatizing,” Tedros said. “It also gives us a standard format to use for any future coronavirus outbreaks.”
A specific cure of this Novel coronavirus (Covid-19) is still under searching by the scientist. It’s possible that Covid-19 will become used to describe the virus as well.
