VP Leni Robredo says the quo warranto petition of the OSG vs. ABS-CBN is pure harassment and abuse of power. Robredo appeals to the public, especially Congress which has the power over franchise renewals, to defend press freedom.

Recently, Solicitor General Jose Calida gives his official statement about the case filed against ABS-CBN Network in order to stop the supposed “abusive practices.”
Calida said the Office of the Solicitor General wants to put an end to what they have discovered as he said, “highly abusive practices” of ABS-CBN benefiting a greedy few, at the expense of millions of its loyal subscribers.
Calida added that the said practices of the network have gone unnoticed or were disregarded for years, he said.
