British singer Sam Smith is amazed and couldn’t hide his emotion after watching his hit song covered by Filipino students.
On Sam’s Smith Twitter, he shared his reaction to the video, “Too Good at Goodbyes.” He even re-uploaded the video because of his amazement, “WHO IS THIS KID!!!!!? YOU ARE OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE WHOEVER YOU ARE”.
The viral student’s name is Carl Malone Montecido, a PWD from Bacolod City. In the video, you can see that Carl Malone can easily sing Sam Smith’s song and the people who’re watching him were entertain. The video was taken by Trixie Madison and has gathered more than 7 million views since it was posted.
Montecido joined Tawag ng Tanghalan on It’s Showtime back in 2016 where he was dubbed as the “Blind Balladeer” and won 5th place during the grand finals.
Many are amazed and praised for the student. Even foreigners were impressed by Montecido’s performance. Many have commented that a lot of Filipino are good at singing.
Carl Malone Montecido life story was also featured in the Maalala Mo Kaya (MMK). Based on the story, Montecido, at a young age, known to himself that he had a great voice that he dreamed to become a famous singer someday.
