The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) report that the magnitude 3.7 earthquake hits Agoncillo (Batangas) at 03:19:07 AM on Wednesday morning, January 15, 2020. Volunteers from Manila District Fire and Rescue saved not just residents but also dogs in Agoncillo town in Batangas.

The location is 13.92°N, 120.91°E – 003 km S 58° W of Agoncillo (Batangas) where the Depth of Focus (Km) is 002 with the Origin “Tectonic.” The earthquake intensity 3 is also felt nearby towns Tagaytay City.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) is a service institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) that is principally mandated to mitigate disasters that may arise from volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunami and other related geotectonic phenomena.
