The first ever invented anti-dengue medicine is discovered by a Filipino.

Dengue cases in the country is continuously increasing every year. This is the very reason the medical team were doing their best to discover the treatment of the said virus that kills a lot of Filipinos in the country.

According to Dr. Rita Grace Alvero spearheaded the medical team that discover the medicine said, “It’s not a vaccine, it’s not a herbal supplement. It is a drug that has an activity against the virus,”

“So parang sinasabi natin na pag ininom ito ng pasyente, gagaling ‘yung kanyang signs and symptoms. So i-cure niya talaga yung dengue,” Dr. Alvero added.

The medical team insures the safety of the and assured 100% effectivity once taken by the patients as it is coming from a tree herbs or endemic plants naturally grows in the country.

“Nung ginawa namin ‘to, ang naisip talaga namin para tumulong so ‘yung cost dito would be less than the cost ng ginagamit ng isang pasyente kung siya ay may mild na dengue pag siya ay mag co-consult sa clinic or mas lalo siyang mas mababa kaysa sa mga pasyente na nag-punta sa hospital para magpa-confine,” Alvero said.

The anti-dengue medicine is yet to undergo further tests in the following month and will be soon available in the dug store. As of the moment, the said medicine has no price yet.

Similar report from GMA News said that the medicine will be soon available in the drug store after seven (7) years of study.

The “Tuklas Lunas” program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is the government agency funding for the expenses of research and study to formulate and come this anti-dengue medicine.
