A simple student in Bacolod City, Joshua Mifa, sells lumpia and siomai to earn money for his tuition fees and in preparation for his college education. A netizen, Adrian Prietos, posted a live video on Facebook, recording how Joshua sells lumpia and siomai. Joshua is now in the 12th grade, 19 years old. He has been selling lumpia for 3 months and has gained a lot of “suki” since then. Fellow students salute him for being an inspiration and a good example to the community. Some students admire how hardworking and determined he is in finishing his studies. Not all students have the guts to sell and go through a very challenging experience. Joshua said that he wakes up around 3 – 4 o’clock in the morning in order to cook. He sells lumpia for five pesos and siomai for five pesos as well. He gains around 1,000 pesos for his profit and saves the half of it for his allowance.
Here are some of the comments:
Joshua is truly an inspiration to all of us. Even though he is in a tough situation, he gratefully accepts the challenge and said that all the hard work is all worth it. He said that students should continue to learn and go to school despite of all the struggles because someday they will finally reap their achievements.
