Filipino-American singer Malaya Watson was able to advance to the next round and joining the Top-12 finalist of America’s most popular singing competition “American Idol Season 13” after her rendition of “Runaway Baby” popularized by Bruno Mars.

The 16-year-old Malaya Watson of Southfield, Michigan dropped-down in the bottom 3 together with Kristen O’Connor and MK Nobilette after the results announced last February 28, 2014 (Manila time) but she was saved and Kristen O’Connor unfortunately sent home and lose her chances to win the most coveted title of American Idol 2014.

Malaya Watson’s performance of “Runaway Baby” drew various emotional reactions from judges that include Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.

But Judge Jennifer Lopez has given word of encouragement to the Filipino-American aspiring singer: “It wasn’t your best vocal performance, we know you can blow, at the end it went off the rails. But for me this was just one performance, you’re a contender baby,” she said.

Malaya Watson is now hoping you to include her in your prayer that she will be able to make it to the top.
