Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) stated a magnitude 5.0 Earthquake hits Calayan (Cagayan) at around 6:08 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. The location was made 19.30°N, 121.11°E – 037 km N 86° W of Calayan (Cagayan).

The Depth of Focus (Km) is 009.
