MANILA — According to the Manila Police District, five (5) people have been arrested on charges of killing 20-year-old criminology student Randall Bonifacio in Tondo, Manila, in October 2023.
On January 22, one of the suspects was taken into custody in an empty lot in Camarin, Caloocan City.
He is rated the MPD’s Top 3 Most Wanted Person and one of the key defendants in the case.
After his arrest, the accused provided the address of a second accomplice, a 25-year-old male who was later arrested inside a Valenzuela City fast food restaurant.
He promised the victim’s family that the city government and MPD remain dedicated to pursuing justice.
He is one of Manila’s top four (4) wanted person.
Police had previously arrested the Top 1 Most Wanted who was also implicated in the crime, as well as two other accused in separate operations in Manila and Caloocan.
According to the MPD, the suspects have been hiding from the law for approximately two years.
The crime originated on October 20, 2023, when the victim reportedly struck one of the accused during a fight outside a Tondo pub, which resulted in a beating.
After being struck in the face and head by a rock, the victim died from blunt traumatic injuries, according to the autopsy report.
Amelia Bonifacio, the victim’s mother, thanked the accused for being taken into custody.
She claims that even if the grief over her son’s passing hasn’t entirely subsided, she views the suspects’ arrest as a step in the right direction.
The Manila City Jail is now holding the accused who are charged with murder.
