OPM powerhouse Jona shared her excitement about sharing the stage with rising vocalist Sofronio Vasquez, saying she is looking forward to drawing inspiration from his talent and passion for music.
Jona, one of the top five OPM artists in the Champions of the Heart Valentine’s Day concert, talked about her initial feelings upon receiving an invitation to participate in the one-night event. She will be performing alongside fellow Kapamilya singers Martin Nievera, Jed Madela, Klarisse de Guzman, and Sofronio Vasquez. Jona acknowledges that she is most eager to perform with the 2024 winner of The Voice USA out of all of her co-performers.
For the first time, she shared about her feelings about having John Prats conduct a show.
Known for her soaring vocals and emotional delivery, Jona said she sees Sofronio as part of a new generation of Filipino singers who bring freshness and authenticity to the local music scene.
Jona also emphasized that collaboration is not about competition, but about learning from each other.
Sofronio, for his part, previously expressed that performing with Jona is a “dream come true,” citing her as one of the singers he grew up listening to and emulating.
Fans have been buzzing online since news of their joint performance broke, with many calling it a “vocal showdown” and predicting a powerful, emotional set. Music insiders say the pairing promises a blend of Jona’s seasoned artistry and Sofronio’s fresh energy.
Jona hinted that audiences can expect something special.
For Jona, the collaboration is also about spotlighting Filipino musicians.
The two are set to perform in an upcoming concert event, where fans are eager to witness what many are calling one of the most exciting vocal collaborations of the season.
Jona also praised Martin Nievera, the nation’s one and only Concert King, for his humility in sharing the stage with younger performers during the show.
