Early on Monday morning, January 12, 2025, two men were robbed at an appliance store in Barangay Burgos, Rodriguez, Rizal, according to CCTV evidence.

Two men wearing helmets are seen in the CCTV footage making their way directly toward the store.

They moved quickly. Thinking they would be out of sight, one man quickly stood on his companion’s shoulder to switch off the light.

The roll-up door’s lock was then broken with a bolt cutter.

One of the suspects crashed his motorcycle into the store’s glass door when the roll-up was lifted.

One of the suspects went straight to the cashier area and looked in the drawer.

The man went to the speakers and stole some of the new wireless and waterproof portable speaker types since there was no money. They ran away as well.

“Bale tatlong speaker po ‘yung nakuha. ‘Yung dalawa tig-P11,000 at ‘yung isa P4,000. Equivalent of P26,000,” said Resta.

One of the store’s employees had already filed a complaint with the barangay a few days prior to the event after being recorded on camera attempting to open the door early in the morning.

Deputy Chief of the Barangay Burgos Public Safety Office, Hernesto Biliran Jr. said, “Sa ngayon ang nangyayari, kami ‘yung binabantayan nung mga kawatan. Kahit iniiba namen ‘yung oras ng ikot, may nakakalusot pa rin. Pag nahuli namin sila, pasensyahan na lang,”

The employees at the appliance store also discovered that there had been robberies in nearby buildings in recent months.

As they continue to look for the culprits, the police and barangay have stepped up their surveillance in the region.

The robbery adds to a series of recent riding-in-tandem incidents reported in parts of Rizal, prompting police to increase visibility patrols and conduct follow-up operations in commercial areas.

The store management has yet to release an official estimate of the total losses.
