MANILA — This Friday, November 28, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will release a new song called “Every Christmas.”
Gray teased her fans and followers on social media about her next single, which would be accessible on all streaming services.
“Dito sa song na ito ‘Every Christmas’ we’re leaning into the sentiment of how does it feel to be alone on Christmas. I think all of us experienced that,” Gray stated in a recent ABS-CBN News interview.
“Love Language” was Gray’s first single, released in 2021.
Gray, the fourth Miss Universe winner from the Philippines, earlier expressed her desire to become a recording artist and make her mark on the scene of music.
Prior to “Love Language,” she also put out her own rendition of “Raise Your Flag,” a song that was influenced by a declaration she made at the 2018 Miss Universe competition.
Gray, who has steadily expanded her career into music over the past few years, described the song as a “warm, nostalgic reminder of the people and memories that make the season meaningful.” The track was produced in collaboration with local composers and arrangers, continuing Gray’s mission to uplift Filipino artistry.
A Tradition of Holiday Music
This is not Catriona’s first foray into holiday releases. The beauty queen-turned-singer has previously performed Christmas classics and collaborated with choirs and charity groups during the holiday season. However, “Every Christmas” marks her first original Christmas single, a milestone fans have eagerly awaited.
Teaser Sparks Excitement Online
Gray teased snippets of the track and behind-the-scenes photos from the recording booth on social media. The posts quickly sparked excitement among fans, with hashtags such as #CatrionaEveryChristmas and #CatrionaGrayMusic trending shortly after the announcement.
Many praised her soothing vocals and expressed anticipation for the full release, noting that Gray’s venture into original music has been long overdue.
Possible Music Video and Performances
Sources close to the project hinted that Gray may also be preparing a music video to accompany the release, along with potential live performances in December as part of holiday events and TV specials.
The new single will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and other major platforms starting November 28.
