REVIEW: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is a beautiful, very capable foldable that’s best for business users

Folding phones have been around for years now, and they have just kept getting better and better. The Galaxy Z Fold series, which has been ‘top-of-mind’ whenever the word foldables comes up, is a very good example of this–it’s almost perfect. Almost.

I think the Z Fold7 has a great design. The two sides fold exactly flat, and it’s really thin for a folding phone. When used as a regular phone, the squared-off sides also give it a distinctive appearance, and when it is unfolded, the design maximizes the screen area. Additionally, it weighs only 215 grams, which is even less than the S25 Ultra’s 218 grams!

Indeed, the crease is still present. Additionally, you can clearly see the phone through the reflections of nearby light sources when it is in dark mode. However, if you switch it to bright mode, the crease is less noticeable.

I have no complaints at all about the how this phone feels and looks; it’s incredibly elegant and high-end, and you can tell that you are holding something unique. And after looking at earlier Z Folds, I’ve come to the conclusion that those who work in business or related fields will benefit most from this phone.

Similar to how business laptops (such as ThinkPads and ExpertBooks) differ from consumer laptops (such as MacBook Airs), a new category of business-oriented phones is also emerging.

First, though, the specifications. As a flagship product, the Z Fold 7 naturally has the most cutting-edge parts:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite
  • 12 GB of RAM (16 GB for the 1TB storage model)
  • At least 256 GB of storage
  • 6.5-inch AMOLED cover display with 2520 x 1080 resolution with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate
  • 8-inch AMOLED main display with 2184 x 1968 resolution with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate
  • 200 MP main camera
  • 12 MP ultra-wide camera
  • 10 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom
  • 10 MP selfie camera on the cover screen
  • 10 MP ‘selfie’ camera on main screen

The 4400 mAh battery and 25W charging feel like non-flagship features these days. However, even with the somewhat compact powerpack, I was still able to use the phone for an entire day. I believe that the chipset’s efficiency is the primary cause of this. You can use this to read documents, write documents, check spreadsheets for hours, and check emails without worrying about it dying on you.

On July 9, 2025, Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, the smallest and lightest Galaxy Z Fold series to date, which combines the best of Galaxy design, camera functionality, and AI innovation. When unfolded, its larger, more immersive display unlocks new levels of productivity and efficiency while providing the superior performance and experience of an ultra smartphone. Additionally, it incorporates intelligent, multimodal agents that are designed for the foldable form factor with ease thanks to the new One UI 8.
