“Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion Delight Fans in Long-Awaited Reunion Concert”
Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion captivated their fans by gracing the stage together for the first time in 36 years, creating enchanting music during their concert titled “Dear Heart” at the Mall Of Asia Arena on October 27, 2023.
The celebrated duo, first paired in the 1981 movie “Dear Heart,” had a meaningful history, marrying at the Manila Cathedral in 1984 and welcoming their daughter, Maria Kristina Cassandra Cuneta Concepcion, known as KC Concepcion in showbiz. Their separation in 1987 culminated in the annulment of their marriage in 1993.
Despite years of speculation about a potential reunion in movies, shows, or concerts, plans materialized only this year, culminating in this highly anticipated concert.
Following the main performance, many attendees left the venue a few minutes after 11 p.m. when Sharon and Gabby exited the stage. However, the ex-couple returned for an encore, serenading the audience with several songs, including their iconic theme song “Come What May,” originally performed in 1978 by American artists Herb Alpert and Lani Hall.
During the rendition, Gabby, at one point, covered his face with a part of Sharon’s dress as he leaned his cheek towards hers, prompting cheers from their ardent fans, who eagerly anticipated a kiss between the two.
Amidst the audience’s chants for a kiss, it remained unclear whether Gabby indeed kissed Sharon as his face was covered during that particular moment of the performance.
