On Tuesday night, October 24, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported a magnitude 3.6 earthquake that rattled Zamboanga del Norte. According to Phivolcs, the earthquake, of tectonic origin, struck at 7:53 p.m.

The tremor, though relatively moderate in magnitude, served as a stark reminder of the seismic activity that can affect regions in the Philippines. Fortunately, there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, and local authorities and disaster response teams remained vigilant to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents in the affected areas. The incident underscored the importance of preparedness and early warning systems in areas prone to seismic events.

Intensity IV was felt in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.

Instrumental Intensities were recorded in the following areas:

Intensity IV – Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte

Intensity I – City of Zamboanga

Phivolcs does not expect any possible aftershocks of the earthquake.

The said earthquake is also not expected to cause damage.
