Celeste Cortesi did not go past the Top 16 in yesterday’s 71st Miss Universe competition in New Orleans, USA.
The Philippines hasn’t advanced past the semi-finals of the famous beauty contest for the very first time in 12 years.
On December 15, 1997, Celeste Cortesi was born to an Italian father and a Filipino mother. The Miss Earth Philippines 2018 pageant served as the local pageant scene’s introduction to the Pasay beauty queen.
After winning Miss Universe Philippines 2022, she gained much more recognition. The stunning 25-year-old left her native Italy to pursue pageantry in the Philippines.
A video of Celeste crying as she left the Miss Universe stage was posted online by a user with the Twitter account @jpaulryes. This indicates how determined Celeste was to succeed after months of diligent practice for the competition.
Numerous online users mourned Celeste’s tears in the video’s comments section because of the outcome of her performance. Even though Celeste missed the Top 16, Filipinos were still proud of her.
