A 19-year-old boy from Subic, Zambales, who returned a suitcase containing barely P70,000 has gone popular on social media. Arjay Piletina’s story: On his way to the hospital with his brother and nephew on Sunday, he noticed a bag on the roadside.

“I returned it because I saw it lying there on the highway,” he explained.

Piletina brought the bag to the police, who discovered an ID inside. They found its owner in less than a day. The owner of the bag, according to Piletina, handed him a little reward.

When questioned why he didn’t take the money, the adolescent said, “First of all, I didn’t work for it and it wasn’t ours. Our parents taught us, if we don’t, we will return who is the real owner.”

Piletina is overjoyed that her parents are pleased with her achievements.

“They are proud of course because they have a son who (has) a good heart for others,” he explained.

Piletina’s parents are both salespeople. He began the Food and Beverage Service course given by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, or TESDA, but did not complete it due to personal circumstances. He is now seeking for work.
