Joyce Pring’s statements in her October 5 podcast episode with Wil Dasovich regarding nonbelievers getting “to hell” sparked many arguments in the local internet community.
Joyce, who delivers the Spotify podcast “Adulting with Joyce Pring,” had Wil as a guest in the second part of her episode “Unpacking Christianity.”
She is a passionate Christian who regards herself as a “sinner saved by Christ.”
Pring answered “No” and shook her head after explaining whether he’s referring to individuals who don’t believe in Jesus. Dasovich, who seemed skeptical, then inquired as to what would happen to non-believers.
“They’re gonna face judgment and go to hell,” Pring, 29, said, adding that non-believers will “suffer in eternity forever.”
Pring further emphasized that what distinguishes her faith as “beautiful” is that Christians “don’t have to work for heaven,” because Jesus “already did that for [them].”
Pring noticed that a murderer may go to heaven if he “honestly repents for his sins.” Dasovich then inquired whether there was an item for a “saint” who did nothing wrong in life but does not believe in Jesus. Pring gave a negative response.
The specific podcast episode, according to Joyce, addresses “in-depth questions about God, Christianity as [her] belief system, and if [she] should recommend Wil to date [her] Christian friends.”
The episode description states, “Brace yourselves as Wil and I have an in-depth conversation about Christianity and more!”
Pring stressed to listeners that her remarks on non-believers were merely her “personal belief.”
Dasovich, who called Pring’s statements “brutal” throughout the program, stated that he disagreed with her. In any event, they claimed to be “great friends” who “don’t judge each other or anybody.”
Many netizens, however, were dissatisfied with Pring’s statements.
One person commented on Pring’s ideas being “scary” and harmful in a Facebook post that had almost 10,000 replies (with “Haha” as the plurality), 2,100 comments, and 8,500 shares. A cheeky user who reposted the post added in the caption, “HHAHAAHAHAHA edi inyo na langit.”
On Twitter, one commenter called Pring “self-righteous,” stating she had “no place in heaven.”
