Barbie Imperial responded to the claim that actor JM de Guzman was a “fubus” in the past.

“Fubu” is an acronym for “f*ck buddy,” a slang term for having a sèxual connection but not committing to it.

In the ABS-CBN afternoon drama series Araw Gabi, which aired in 2018, Barbie and JM grew close.

Barbie’s response to the situation: “Uy, grabe, hindi naman fubu. May emotions naman yun.

“’Tsaka wala namang nangyari sa…”

Barbie then burst out laughing, “Joke lang!

“Hindi. No. It wasn’t just fubu. Ako, siyempre, ni-love ko talaga si Em [JM].

“Di ba nga, sabi ko sa recent vlog ko, kahit hindi ex, minahal pa rin talaga.

“Hindi. Hindi kami fubu, may emotions yun. Minahal talaga.”

Barbie said on her September 11, 2022, YouTube vlog.

Barbie revealed what transpired between her and JM in a 2019 interview on the defunct ABS-CBN talk show Tonight With Boy Abunda (TWBA).

JM was always there for Barbie when she and her ex-boyfriend Paul Salas split up.

They became buddies, but their relationship was short-lived.

Barbie stated to TWBA: “Sinabi naman po namin dati na parang di pa siya okay din. So, parang kaming dalawa po, dalawang tao na wasak.

“Tina-try namin parehong ayusin yung isa’t isa. Buuin yung isa’t isa. Pero hindi po pala puwede iyon.

“Dapat parang meron at least isang tao na buo kasi ang hirap kung wasak ka na nga, tapos wasak din yung aayusin mo. Paano mo aayusin yung sarili mo?”

Barbie also addressed her present involvement with a politician, with whom she was pictured at the airport.

The politician, Mico Clavano, a candidate on the Bisaya Gyud party ticket at the time, was identified by netizens as the politician.

Barbie answered, “Hindi ko siya boyfriend, pero lumabas kami couple of times.

“And he’s a very good man, [he] came from a very good family, like sobrang bait ng family niya.

“But di ko siya boyfriend…”

Barbie shouted and flung the throw pillow she was clutching after this.

“Ang hirap!

“Hindi ko po siya boyfriend. Pero… palagi kaming nagkakasama as a group.”

Barbie laughed again and said, “Sobrang hindi ko kayang mag-lie.

“Okay na yun, bahala na kayong manghula kung ano ang meron sa amin.”
