A family in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, may have set fire to their 84-year-old grandmother after a disagreement with their religious group.

PCol is correct. The officer-in-charge of the Misamis Oriental Provincial Police Office, Gonzalo Villamor Jr., was furious with the victim, Teofila Camungay, and her grandson, Crisanto Ercilla.

According to Villamor’s story, Ercilla desired to form her own faction within their group.

“Ngayon, si Lola Teofila, loyal dito…sa orihinal, yes, so nagalit itong si Crisanto Ercilla kasi bakit ganun, gusto niya magsarili, siya ata yung lider,” according to the police.

According to Villamor, Ercilla appeared to be insane when she committed the crimé.

According to Villamor, they will investigate whether the family’s organization was involved in the incident.

However, only family members have been charged with parricide thus far.
