DLSU-D Senior High School Announces New Subject an Elective on Taylor Swift

De La Salle University – Dasmariñas Senior High School has revealed that students will have the opportunity to enroll in an elective course focused on Taylor Swift in the upcoming semester. The official Facebook page of the university’s Senior High School department shared details about this elective, along with various other pop culture-related topics that will be available. The Taylor Swift elective, titled “Speak Now: Swifties Unleashed,” is designed to delve into the musical artistry of the Grammy Award-winning singer, offering students a “backstage pass” to discover the enchantment behind her music.

In addition to the Taylor Swift elective, the school will be introducing diverse electives covering subjects like the Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob Squarepants, K-pop and K-Drama, biking, and cats. Previous elective offerings included courses on Star Wars, Harry Potter, and anime. DLSU-D students interested in enrolling in these electives can mark January 17 on their calendars, as online enrollment for the second semester commences on that date.

The academic institution has been progressively introducing creative electives that are outcome- and skills-based, allowing students to choose classes based on their personal interests and preferences. Other available electives encompass areas such as photography, Gender Studies, Creative Writing, Digital Marketing, Cookery, and more.

Notably, the University of the Philippines (UP) has also announced the inclusion of a course centered on Taylor Swift under BA Broadcast Media Arts and Studies for the academic year 2023-2024.

Moreover, various universities globally, including Stanford University, New York University, Harvard University, University of Texas, and Ghent University, have previously offered courses related to Taylor Swift.
