Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva expressed his approval and support for the recent enactment of Republic Act No. 11962, known as the “Work for the People Act.” This significant development occurred as President Bongbong Marcos officially signed the bill on Wednesday, September 27. The new law promises to bring about important changes in labor and employment practices, marking a noteworthy step towards addressing crucial workforce issues in the country. Villanueva’s positive response reflects the anticipation of positive impacts on the labor sector and the broader economy as a result of this legislation.

The new law is aimed at fostering job creation and opportunities for Filipinos while addressing labor market-related issues within the country.

“Under this law, we will also incentivize employers, industry stakeholders, and private partners who will facilitate skills development, technology transfer and knowledge sharing amongst our businesses and our workers. With this concerted effort, I am confident that we will not only achieve the goals of this law but we will also realize our vision of Bagong Pilipinas,” said President Marcos JR.
