Rob Pelinka and the Los Angeles Lakers wasted no time in bolstering their roster at the beginning of free agency, executing his strategy of maintaining the team’s core while simultaneously enhancing the supporting cast.

The Lakers successfully retained their top three free agents, securing Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, and Rui Hachimura, all expected to join the starting lineup alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Furthermore, the Lakers significantly bolstered their bench by welcoming new additions such as Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Jaxson Hayes, and Cam Reddish.

With 13 players currently on their roster, Pelinka’s work is almost complete, and it’s likely that the Lakers will enter the 2023-24 season with 14 players to retain the roster flexibility they’ve maintained in previous years.
