Bagyong Egay made landfall over Fuga Island in Aparri, Cagayan on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, according to the state weather bureau PAGASA.
Bagyong Egay was located in Aparri’s coastal waters, with maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h around the center, gustiness of up to 240 km/h, and a central pressure of 935 hPa, according to PAGASA. Bagyong Egay crosses West at 20 km/h.
Bagyong Egay is expected to strengthen further and become a super typhoon by late tomorrow or early Wednesday. It is expected to intensify into a super typhoon. As it hits the colder seas southwest and west of Taiwan, it may start to weaken by Wednesday afternoon or evening.
