Pambansang Bae Alden Richards responded to the backlash thrown on Megastar Sharon Cuneta after her AlDub remarks.

Sharon was one of the celebs that became a supporter of the AlDub love team. The Megastar appeared on the the first episode of EAT, TVJ’s new show on TV5, and she mentioned something to Maine that a lot of netizens found offensive.

“Maine, congrats, ha. Nagsu-shooting ako ngayon. May kasama ako, yung anak kong bago… Pangalan niya, Alden,” the veteran actress told the Phenomenal Star.

A lot of people are aware that Maine will marry actor-politician Arjo Atayde in July. Alden backed Sharon when she got criticism that she was “insensitive” and “awkward.”

Alden confessed that he didn’t sure how the audience took Sharon’s words, but he added, “I think she meant well.”

“Sana po huwag nating husgahan agad,” Alden said.

“Feeling ko, it was out of excitement,” he added.
