Herlene Budol, a comedian and beauty queen, apologized to people after receiving criticism for her answer during the Miss Gran Philippine Q&A.

Herlene officially apologized on her social media account. This follows a negative internet criticism for her response during the “Question & Answer” part of the Miss of the preliminary competition on June 20, 2023.

 “Apart from your social media following, what else have you got in order to win the crown?” the judge inquired.

“Thank you for that looong question for me… Charoz… I have a big followers because I have a big heart! O, English ‘yun, ha? Ano nga ulit ‘yung tanong?” Herlene answered.

“What else do you think you have got in order to win this year?” the judge questions. “What?” asked the beauty queen-actress once again. “Ano pang meron ka maliban sa iyong social media following?” repetition of the jury, which is already in the Filipino language.

Others have urged that she change her Miss Grand Philippines 2023 approach in order to deal with any concerns that may occur as a result of her inappropriate remarks and constant focus on being true to herself. As a result, Herlene issued an apology to the public in a Facebook post.
