Gigi de Lana, an online singing sensation, has now revealed why she decided to chop her hair short.

Gigi de Lana rose to popularity as a competitor on “It’s Showtime’s” “Tawag ng Tanghalan,” and she became an overnight star after her band ‘The Gigi Vibes’ internet sessions went viral during the epidemic.

Over the weekend, Gigi de Lana turned to social media to explain why she decided to cut her hair short. On her TikTok account, the internet singing sensation revealed that it was not simply for a fresh appearance.

“Ang daming hindi nakakaalam nito. Mommy ko po may stage 4 breast cancer, maiksi po ang hair niya. So gusto ko po kapag makikita ko siya parehas kami halos ng iksi ng hair,” Gigi stated.

“Pero ito po hindi ko po kaya ‘yung semi kalbo o kaya parang boy cut talaga. So ayon po para hindi na po kayo magtanong at magsabi sa akin bakit ka nagpagupit. Ayan alam niyo na,” she continued.
