Speculation about Fumiya’s sexuality grew after she posted a video on TikTok of herself dancing with a non-showbiz guy who netizens believe is her boyfriend.
Fumiya is shown in the video dancing to the TikTok dance craze “Last Christmas” by Wham whereas another man stands next to him.
Many TikTok users liked it, but it did not escape the criticism of netizens.
In the comments section of Fumiya’s TikTok post on January 9, 2023, numerous netizens were fascinated and asked if the man in the video was his boyfriend.
Former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate Fumiya Sankai categorically denied being gay.
“Is that your boyfriend?” inquired the netizen.
Another commented, “Finally nireveal mo na jowa mo.”
“Congrats Fumiya with your boyfriend,” one person said.
“Bagay kayo [heart emoji] I’m so proud Fumiya, stay in love,” exclaimed another.
The video quickly became popular until Fumiya contacted him about his true sexuality. On January 10, 2023, he clearly stated the allegation against him in a different video.
According to the ex-PBB housemate, even he was shocked by the video’s sudden virality.
“Akala ko my dance is very nice that’s why it’s trending,” he explained.
Fumiya emphasized:
“I respect LGBT. Very respect. Pero I’m very, very straight.
“We are really straight.”
Finally, Fumiya thanked everyone who reposted, liked, and commented on his TikTok video, which has 5.1 million views. Netizens’ perspectives on information dissemination were clarified, and many were shocked, even though the accusation was a fake story.
