The Commission on Elections announced the voter registration schedule for December through January 2023.
The Commission on Elections is the body in charge of local and national elections in the Philippines. The poll body is currently preparing for registration for the next barangay and local elections.
The Comelec is planning to resume voter registration for the upcoming elections. The poll body recently announced the date for the resumption of voter registration as well as the registration schedule.
According to an ABS-CBN News report, Comelec spokesperson Attorney John Rex Laudiangco stated that voter registration will resume on December 12 and will last until January 13, 2023.
According to Mr. Laudiangco, voter registration will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. up to 5:00 p.m. except for the holidays of December 24 and 25, and January 1. He emphasized that the poll body’s branches will remain open throughout the holidays to provide voter registration services.
According to the report, the Comelec spokesperson also stated that Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) voters who turn 15 on or before October 30, 2023, will be able to register as SK voters. In terms of regular voters, those who will turn 18 on or before October 30, 2023, may be listed and registered as voters.
The “Register Anywhere Project” will be carried out by the polling organization. According to the polling organization, its pilot implementation will take place in the National Capital Region (NCR).
