Following the dėath of former Batangas Vice Governor Ricky Recto, the Recto family requested time for private mourning.

Ricky passed away on December 1, 2022. However, his body was discovered on December 5.

He is 59.

official statement from his younger brother, House Representative Ralph Recto, Vilma Santos-Recto’s husband: 

“With sadness, we share the news that our brother Ricky has passed away.

“Words are hard to come by to express the sorrow of losing him but we take comfort in our fond memories of him to overcome the pain we feel.

“We are touched by your kind words and prayers but in the meantime, we ask for the time and space to grieve in private.

“But we do recognize that Ricky had served as a national athlete and as an elected official, so a simple memorial is being discussed, the details of which maybe announced soon.”

The former Batangas vice governor’s lifeless body was discovered with a bullet wound in the chest at his home in Pasig City on Monday night, December 5.

Ricky Recto’s death was a “suicidė incident,” according to P/Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta of the Eastern Police District.

A portion of his statement, “Na-discover siya kagabi, 6 o’clock… suicidė incident at saka we do not want to elaborate it pa.”

Ricky’s 60th birthday would have been on December 11th.

Ryckllan Recto, his 28-year-old son with former comedienne Jinky Oda, has lived in America for a long time.

In November 2008, Jinky revealed that his son Ricky Recto knew his father.

“Bata pa lang naman ang anak ko, sinabi ko na kung sino ang daddy niya. Ayokong itago iyon sa kanya.

“Pero okey naman ang anak ko dahil hindi yun nakasira sa pagkatao niya. Lumaki naman siyang maayos at kahit kaming dalawa lang, maganda ang naging buhay namin,” the comedienne stated.
