Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez has been unanimously selected by the UP Board of Regents to be the next UP President, succeeding UP President Danilo Concepcion. Jimenez will be the 22nd UP President, serving a six-year term from 2023 to 2029.

Jimenez envisions an “inquisitive and innovative university that asks the big questions of our time”. One main field that Jimenez has been keen on capitalizing on is digitalization. Prior to the selection, he was a member of the UP Board of Regents (BOR) in 1992, and from 2016 to 2021.

Jimenez adds he is the first student regent to become UP president. He was also editor of the Philippine Collegian.
