Citing the “undisputable fact” that in-person learning remains the best option for basic education based on studies, the Department of Education (DepED) is all set for the return to full face-to-face in all public schools starting next month.

The implementation of the five-day face-to-face classes in public schools still continues on November 2 when the Department of Health or DOH confirms that the Omicron XBB subvariant and XBC variant of COVID-19 have entered the Philippines.

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte said that the schools under the Department of Education (DepED) are “ready” for the full implementation of face-to-face classes scheduled to start next month.

The Department of Education amended its earlier order that requires all private schools to transition to full face-to-face classes beginning November 2.

DepEd Spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa, they do not have any amendments or changes that are being implemented regarding the full implementation of face-to-face classes.

DepEd has already ordered, under Department Order (DO) No. 34 full implementation or five-day face-to-face classes in public and private schools in the country starting November 2.

Similarly, just on Monday, DepEd issued DO No. 44, which amends DO No. 34 and allow private schools to conduct five-day face-to-face classes, blended learning modality, or full distance learning beginning on your date.

Public schools should implement full in-person classes.
