Benhur Abalos, the secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), reports that the suspected gunman who kílled broadcaster Percy Lapid has turned himself in to the authorities.
In a news conference, Abalos stated “Ngayong umagang ‘to, gusto ko lang i-kumpirma na nasa kustodiya na ng PNP itong suspek na ang pangalan ay Joel Estorial. Siya ay of course taga-Quezon City”

“Sana po mapatawad ako, di ko naman kagustuhan ‘yun, dala lang ng kahirapan,” the suspected gunman Joel Estorial told to Sec. Abalos during the press briefing at Camp Crame.
The two empty slugs that were collected from the críme location matched those that were discovered in Estorial’s gun, according to Abalos.
The red jacket the gunman wore the night of the shootíng was also with him.
