Despite the passage of eight years, Vhong Navarro still insists that Deniece Cornejo was the victim of a sėxual assault.

The Office of the Prosecutor in Taguig City was mandated by the Court of Appeals to accuse Vhong of rapė and lewd behavior in July 2022.

The hearing for the serious case of wrongful detention of Deniece Cornejo’s group, which also includes co-accused Cedric Lee, is still going on.

Vhong’s camp pushed to deny it on August 22, 2022.The defense team for Vhong underlined that Deniece’s rapė charge was repeatedly denied not just due to “inconsistencies” in the girl’s claims but also because of the CCTV video that the actor had provided as supporting documentation.

In an interview with PEP.ph, Atty. Alma Mallonga called him on the phone, and he also provided an official written declaration about this eight-year legal dispute.

First, Vhong’s attorney cited the “repeated dismissal” of the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Department of Justice Secretary’s Office in connection with Deniece’s rapė claim.

It is astounding that Vhong’s rapė of Deniece on January 17, 2014, was left out of her two sworn affidavits. The two initially met in Deniece’s condo in Taguig’s Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

The Attorney’s emphasis Regarding Deniece’s account, which has been published in its entirety, Mallonga said: “Mr. Navarro left the condo unit at her request, capping the events described in the complaint’s eight lines.”

She stated,

“He tried to insist that I let him stay longer (in the condo) and even made jokes about sleeping over… I told him, ‘No, di puwede talaga,’ so finally he conceded… Thereafter, Kuya Vhong left my unit by himself.’

“Again, in a Petition dated February 4, 2014 filed with the court, Ms. Cornejo maintained that she was not raped on January 17, took pains to recount what happened that day which ended with her asking Mr. Navarro to leave, and he did, i.e. ‘Kuya Vhong left my unit by himself.”

“Both her Complaint-Affidavit and Petition were under oath and executed with assistance of counsel.”

On the evening of January 22, 2014, Vhong and Deniece had their second encounter in the female condo unit.

The events of January 22 are different in Vhong’s and Deniece’s accounts.

Vhong is accused of having rapėd Deniece.

After being chained, blindfolded, and assaultėd by six men, Vhong countersues that he was set up by Deniece’s group.
