Following the highly successful and trending finale of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” last Friday, the cast went out on Sunday to personally thank their loyal viewers for the past seven years.
The cast, led by Coco Martin, arrived at Vista Mall to greet hundreds of their fans.
“Ang Probinsyano” was the undisputed No. 1 TV show in the Philippines for five years, until ABS-CBN was forced off free television in mid-2020.
After the network’s broadcast shutdown, the series gradually regained its wide viewership by migrating to digital platforms.
“Ang Probinsyano” has led ABS-CBN titles in reaching successive audience milestones on Kapamilya Online Live over the last two years. Prior to its conclusion, it set record viewership after record viewership, with the final episode setting an all-time high of 536,543 concurrent live viewers.
The massive audience was also visible in the trending topics on Twitter on Friday night, with #FPJsAngProbinsyano and #FPJAP7MissionAccomplished ranking first and second, respectively. Cardo, Lola Flora, Mara, Hipolito, and Agila were also top trends.
Martin believes that the seven-year run of “Ang Probinsyano” has always been driven by the mission of entertaining and inspiring viewers, which has been fueled by the camaraderie and family that has developed among the series’ cast and creative team.
