Seo In Guk, a South Korean singer-actor, has returned to music, lately releasing a single album that attempted to highlight his amorous side.
“There’s a lot of different kinds of emotion[s] of love. Out of all those emotions, I wanted to focus on loving and cherishing the other person,” Seo said of the two-track album’s subject in a video statement shared to ABS-CBN News on Friday.
The album, which was released on June 14, is Seo’s first new solo work in five years. In 2017, he released the tune “Better Together.” During the intervening years, Seo concentrated on his acting career, but he did record a few soundtracks for some of the TV dramas in which he appeared, such as “Star” from “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” (2018) and “Distant Fate” from “Doom At Your Service” (2021).
The album’s title song, “My Love,” is a laid-back R&B ballad featuring rapper Ravi.
The 34-year-old singer characterized “My Love” as “a song you’ll never get tired of listening [to]” and compared its vibe to “a strong scent of coffee.”
“You can’t get sick of it… the sound came out really fun so I’m really satisfied with it,” Seo remarked of the song.
Seo began his singing career after winning the first season of the singing competition “Superstar K” in 2009.
He made his acting debut in the blockbuster coming-of-age drama “Reply 1997,” and he recently acts in the series “Café Minamdang.”
