Nora Aunor did not attend President Rodrigo Duterte’s presentation of the Order of National Artists to the eight recipients for arts and culture yesterday.
Instead, Nora was represented by her son, Ian de Leon, and her daughter, Matet de Leon.
The Order of National Artists is the highest honor bestowed upon Filipinos who have made significant contributions to the arts and culture of the country.
The new National Artists will be compensated with financial grants, a monthly pension, medical and hospitalization benefits, life insurance, and a state funeral and burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
