KZ Tandingan, a singer, revealed a valuable lesson she learnt from her mentor, Concert King Martin Nievera.

KZ had assistance from musicians that got into the industry before her on her journey to popularity.

According to a previous interview published in Inquirer Lifestyle, the singer was assisted by well-known singers such as Jake Zyrus, Gary Valenciano, Pilita Corrales, and Martin Nievera.

KZ Tandingan gave details of what she learnt from the Concert King. A small event, she noted, is just as relevant as a huge show for someone like Martin, who is a household name in the music world.

“Si sir Martin, (he said), there are no small shows. Maliit man o malaki ang role mo, one-liner man ‘yan or full medley ang ipe-perform mo, isang tao man iyong manonood or isang buong coliseum, you should always give your 100%,” KZ recalled.

KZ Tandingan further expressed her gratitude for the individuals in her life that remind her of her humble background, which she believes maintains her grounded.

“I try to share it with everybody lalung-lalo na sa nagsisimula kasi itong trabaho na ito kasi ay delikado siya lalo na kapag biglang umangat and it gets in your head,” the singer continued.

After joining The X Factor Philippines in 2012, KZ was able to break into the music industry. With her outstanding performances, she became a household name. She has been labeled Asia’s Soul Supreme.
