The filmmaker and his wife, Toni Gonzaga, publicly supported President-elect Bongbong Marcos and his running partner, Sara Duterte.
The question is, is it true that filmmaker and film producer Paul Soriano was given a government job after he endorsed presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.?
Paul David Soriano is a Filipino-American commercial and film director and producer. Paul was born in Los Angeles, California, and is an award-winning film director, screenwriter, and producer. He relocated to the Philippines and began his career directing concerts, music videos, and TV commercials before moving on to short films and feature films.
Toni Gonzaga is a Filipina singer, presenter, actor, producer, YouTuber, and businesswoman born Celestine Cruz Gonzaga-Soriano. She was once the principal host of the long-running reality show Pinoy Big Brother.
Toni hosted UniTeam’s campaign rallies, while Paul directed Bongbong and Sara’s campaign rallies.
To those that are unfamiliar, Paul is the nephew of BBM’s wife, Liza Araneta, and the godfather of Paul and Toni’s wedding’s newly chosen president.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, the director firmly contradicted chika’s claim that UniTeam had offered him a government job.
Toni’s husband confirmed that now that the campaign is over, he will resume directing and producing films and events.
“I’ve not been offered anything. I am back to my job, producing films and commercials,” he stated.
“Currently we’re preparing for the straight airing on Netflix this July of the comedy drama, The Untitled, with Alex Gonzaga,” Paul explained.
He also stated that there is no validity to reports that he may be nominated as Secretary of Tourism or as a member of the Marcos administration’s Presidential Communications team.
However, he is rumored to be prepared to direct the future President’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) if requested again.
“If there’s a need for me to help, I will be there in whatever capacity. I’ve been supporting him from the start and I will continue to do that. He can count on us,” Paul stated.
Furthermore, his wife Toni intends to resume her filmmaking career. It will also keep running its internet talk show “Toni Talks.”
“She’s also willing to be of service to the President, if she’s needed,” Direk Paul added.
