Just announced his retirement from the PBA after 16 years and many championships for the Purefoods/Star/SanMigCoffee/B-Meg/Magnolia Franchise and also many playing years with Gilas Pilipinas!

Nine-time PBA champion and Gilas Pilipinas legend Marc Pingris has called it a career after 16 years in the PBA. He announced his retirement on social media Tuesday night.

“I remember my name being called during the 2004 PBA Draft. Doon nagsimulang matupad ang pangarap ng isang batang palengke. 16 years na din ako sa PBA pero alam ko na ngayon na din ang tamang panahon para umpisahan ang bagong chapter ng buhay ko. “It has been a glorious 16 years, #pinoysakuragi15signingoff,” wrote Pingris.

“To my wife, Danica, thank you for your love. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me & our family. Thank you for staying beside me, for pushing me to work harder & for never give up. I love you!
