Vice President Leni Robredo slams USEC. Epimaco Densing III on “LUGAW” Issue. Recently, the Philippines Vice President releases statement to the “LUGAW” issue, “Marami akong kilala sa DILG na mga professional at napakahuhusay. Nalulungkot ako para sa kanila na nahaluan [sila] ng ganitong public official. Lesson ito sa ating mga nasa gobyerno na tayo ang nagha-hire, nag-aapoint. Sana naman pagbasehan natin sa competency [at] hindi lang sa politika.

The ‘LUGAW’ issue viral on social media when a Grab Driver uploaded a video that he was arrested by the authorities because of delivering a “LUGAW.” According to the authorities who captured him, Lugaw is not an essential foods.

However, USEC. Epimaco Densing III releases statement and went viral, “Hindi talaga essential si lugaw. Pero kung sinabi niya essential ang lugaw, ‘yun tama ‘yun. Ang lugaw. Pero si lugaw ang binabanggit niya. Non-essential talaga ‘yun sa paningin namin.
