Joe Biden has defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States. The Democrat captured 270 electoral votes, the necessary number to win the White House. The official declaration has yet to be made.

JoeBiden will be inaugurated in January 2021 and lead the US for four years.

This is the first time a woman of any color has held the office of Vice President. But for many black girls and Asian girls especially this is an even bigger moment.

Kamala Harris made history as the first Black woman to become vice president in the US. She is also the first person of South Asian descent elected to the position.
