“Pastillas Girl” or Angelica Jane Yap in real-life spoke up and defended her boyfriend Ex-Battalion member Flow G over the plagiarism allegations on their song, “Deym” for copying the sound of a BTS song “Ddaeng”.
Filipino rappers and Ex-Battalions members Skusta Clee and Flow G is now facing a plagiarism issue after they released a song for a clothing line that has the title “Deym- 90’s Gang.” However, the BTS fans in the Philippines (ARMYs) called them out on social media as they have allegedly created a song that sounds similar to BTS’ “Ddaeng”.
“Ddaeng” is a 2018 hip-hop diss track by South Korean band BTS performed by members RM, Suga, and J-hope as part of the band’s anniversary celebration.
Aside from the similar sound of the title, the song also had a similar vibe and beat which made the fans more furious. They posted the two songs left and right on social media to point out the similarities and also encouraged the other fans to report it to BTS’s label, BigHit Entertainment.
There were screenshots where Skusta posted that they did not copy the song and jokingly added that they just borrowed the beat and the vibe.
Meanwhile, Angelica Yap defended Flow G. Accordingly, he lost a million-peso deal but she firmly stand that the group started from scratch when they created the music. They never heard of the song “Ddaeng” until they were accused of copying it.
