Forbes, the Business Magazine through its website has released the list of the Philippines’ top richest including the list of billionaires in the country as of this year 2020.
On the list of billionaires, Sy siblings got the highest in rank with $13.9 billion from the overall total assets of several siblings that include Hans ($2 billion or about ₱100 billion), Herbert ($2 billion or about ₱100 billion), Harley ($1.9 billion or about ₱96 billion), Henry Jr. ($1.9 billion or about ₱96 billion), Teresita Sy-Coson ($1.8 billion or ₱ 91 billion), and Elizabeth Sy ($1.6 billion or ₱80 billion).
But when it comes to the individual ranking of billionaires in the country, it is the real estate tycoon Manny Villar hailed as the richest Filipino in the country with $5.6 billion which is nearly Php282.9 billion net worth in peso equivalent. Villar named 286th richest man out of 2,095 billionaires in the world.
Villar owned the largest homebuilders in the Philippines, Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc. He is also the chairman of Starmalls, one of Philippines largest mall operators.
The next richest man in the Philippines based on the individual ranking is Enrique Razon, Jr. with $3.4 billion or nearly Php170 billion net worth in peso equivalent. Razon is the chairman of the International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), the country’s leading terminal operator with subsidiaries in Eastern Europe, Africa, and the America. Razon named the 565th in the global rank.
